Who is HydroX?

HydroX is a supplier of non-destructive excavating and slot trenching services. We provide hydro excavation services for contractors and facility owners in the construction, utility, industrial, engineering and transportation industries. Unlike traditional backhoe excavation, HydroX uses a pressurized water stream to liquify the soil cover, removing it with a powerful vacuum excavation system and depositing it into a storage tank. This system is mainly used for digging trenches in congested grounds and challenging conditions in a safe and efficient manner.

Why HydroX?

HydroX is a safer alternative to traditional excavation. We excavate and expose buried utilities and pipelines such as gas, electrical and phone services using pressurized water and a vacuum system. We significantly reduce the risk of damage and increase productivity. Because of its non-destructive nature, HydroX is quickly becoming recognized as the best method when working in areas with underground utility congestion and frozen ground. HydroX eliminates all chances of damaging utilities, which may sometimes be inaccurately located and marked. Enhancing safety on the job site, increasing productivity and providing a higher level of customer service are all possible with HydroX. Our most obvious advantage is speed. We can often complete excavation projects that previously took days in a few hours.

How is HydroX applied?

HydroX uses a combination of water, pressure and vacuum - combined in one self-contained mobile unit. Pressurized water is injected into the ground via a handheld wand. This system safely washes the soil from underground infrastructure and the resulting slurry is simultaneously vacuumed through a large debris hose into a temporary storage tank.

Does HydroX work in Freezing Temperatures?

Sub-Zero - Not a Problem. In the dead of winter HydroX cranks up the heat. Each HydroX unit carries a 1.2 million BTU coiled heater capable of heating water to 150 degrees F. This allows us to cut through the frost and avoid any damage caused to the utilities below. While traditional digging requires expensive ground thawing methods, HydroX is able to excavate in frozen earth through any depth of ground frost. Digging time is drastically reduced and noxious emissions / fire hazards associated with thawing are virtually eliminated.

By using HydroX, surface damage in the surrounding digging area is minimized, resulting in significantly reduced environmental damage and restoration costs.

HydroX for the Utility Sector

HydroX is the right choice for the Utility Sector Industry. HydroX can lend support to backhoes in many trenching applications. We can also provide operators with a clear line of sight to buried lines thus reducing the risk of damage. Ground disturbance is minimized and backfill and restoration costs are greatly reduced.
